An abundance of beaches, coves and bays on the Wild Atlantic Way are accessible year-round. Inch Beach in County Kerry is one of the easiest to get to and is quite popular in the milder months for picnicking, kayaking and fishing, while the unspoilt strand at Rossbeigh can be seen across the bay from Inch’s south end as you drive past.

Mullaghmore Head in County Sligo is famous among surfers for its big wave at Prowlers, which can reach up to 30 metres in a large swell. Keem Bay, sheltered by cliffs on Achill Island, is the site of a Blueway snorkel trail and is also accessible by car.

Many beaches on the Wild Atlantic Way boast Blue Flag status, an internationally recognised award acknowledging high standards of water quality, cleanliness and safety.
